Loose Goose’s new single launch at Burleigh

December 1, 20233 min read

Burleigh Heads: A Gold Coast band which has only existed for five months will have its first headline show at Mo’s Desert Club tomorrow night.

After months of electric shows across South-East Queensland, Loose Goose is now celebrating the launch of their new single, “Tin Shed”, which is streaming on all platforms.

And you’d also probably never guess that bassist Wil Wood only picked up playing three months before recording. (Say what!?)

The new kids on the block from Burleigh have mixed classic 60s-surf tunes with Aussie rock and teenage angst, creating the perfect sun-drenched song that will have you wanting to invite your friends over for a cold one.

In what promises to be an unforgettable start to a long career for these young musicians, the song is a raw and authentic insight into the band and their unmistakeable identity.

Vocalist and guitarist Ryan Barwick said the song took him straight back to holidays spent as a kid in Scotts Head, New South Wales.

“I was tossing and turning late one night feeling clueless about what I was doing with my life,” Barwick said.

“It was raining pretty hard on my corrugated iron roof, and I couldn’t help but think how nice it would be to live in a tin shed, like the one we used to holiday in.

“I started thinking about how happy I was spending every day at the beach, and where I’d gone wrong to end up here all these years later, so far away from what actually made me happy.

“The song follows that common feeling where you’re living life stuck surrounded by people you couldn’t care for in a place you hate, and wishing you could just get away from it all.”

Loose Goose’s sound is a sonic cocktail of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beddy Rays, Backseat Lovers and The Chats.

The surf-rockers offer a unique combo which allows them to be versatile and experimental, while still delivering hard-hitting, surf-rock anthems that will make fans want to scream at the top of their lungs.

The lads will be supported by Cosmic Vice and Mermaid Waters, from 12noon-4pm.
