Our Yelo Mag free Sunshine Coast Live Music Gig Guide brings the best from the local music scene – from Noosa to Caloundra – every week.
Friday:
All hail heavy metal lovers! The Presynct, at Nambour, brings an all-out night of carnage with six back-to-back bands, including Armoured Earth and Deadweight 80 from Melbourne, and 12 Guage Rampage from Sydney.
Awful Noise (Brisbane) and Sunny Coast legends The 5th Column and Awaken the Hate will be joining them! Tickets here.
Saturday:
This weekend is a big one at Kings Beach Tavern with lead singers Art Alexakis, of Everclear, and Brendan B. Brown, of Wheatus, performing each of their bands’ hits and fan favourites in an intimate acoustic setting on Saturday night.
They’ll be telling in-depth stories behind each of their songs and interacting with the audience, giving fans the unique opportunity to ask each of the artists any questions of their choosing throughout the evening.
This is a one of a kind, unique, and interactive show that you will not want to miss with a meet and greet/VIP option available, from 6pm. Tickets here.
I’ll personally be heading to Byron Bay blues marvel Ash Grunwald‘s show at Imperial Hotel Eumundi (sorry if you missed getting a ticket but keep an eye out for my review). He will be joined by one of my fave local leading songstresses, soul crooner Andrea Kirwin. Squee!
Hostile Fest at Norton’s Music Factory, Caloundra, is also a major one this week and expected to draw big crowds.
New Clear Vision, Hammers, Chin, Black Catapult, The Wolston Butchers and ChAMBER LANe will rock out on the main stage with local lady, Miss LC DJ spinning tracks outside on the garden stage. Food and drinks will be available for the 18+ event with gates opening at 3:30pm. Tickets here.
Then over at Maroochydore’s Solbar there is a double-header from Sunny Coast punk bands, Fake News and Deadheat.
Fake News will be showing off their new EP, “Time & Place”, while Deadheat will bring energy-filled, rock and face-melting riffs. Tickets here.
The Presynct brings raving like it’s the 90s with DJ music from Darren James, Anthonne Shepherd and Waxx Werx. Be sure to support the Coast’s newest live music venue at Nambour run by two amazing females Rusty and Cherry.
Sunday:
Caloundra’s favourite live music venue Kings Beach Tavern will back up their Everclear and Wheatus gig with Australian surf-rock faves Sons of the East, from 6pm.
After sellout shows in London, LA, New York, Paris and Barcelona, Sons Of The East are bringing their thrilling live show home to Australia with an exciting lineup of 30 shows across the country, making this the band’s biggest tour to date.
Sons Of The East has amassed an impressive 300 million streams and 60 million YouTube views throughout their career, a testament to their growing connection with fans all around the world.
“Thank you for your attention, now if you would please direct it to the music of Sons Of The East”, says US actor Bill Murray of the band. How cool is that!?
Tuesday:
Australian singer/songwriter Matt Corby will drop into the Sunshine Coast Music Club on Tuesday. Matt will talk about songwriting, production and music industry, from 4pm. Alex Henriksson, of Rainbow Valley Records, runs the club from Light Industry Studio, at 11 Endeavour Drive, Kunda Park.
