Friday, March 1:

The Station’s Opening Weekend kicks off with Melbourne indi act Temper Trap and local all-female band Betty Taylor. The all-ages event celebrates the launch of the newest Sunshine Coast live music venue, The Station, formerly Nightquarter. Gates Open 4pm. Tickets: here.

Acoustic musician Daniel Champagne, who has been touted as one of this generation’s best guitar players, brings his blues, folk, roots and rock style to the Imperial Hotel Eumundi, from 7.30pm. Tickets: here.

Saturday, March 2:

Canadian hip-hop legend Madchild and Aussie artist Kogz will descend on Norton Music Factory, from 2pm. Tickets: here. There’s even VIP and meet-and-greet available.

Brixton Alley (main picture) and Boof Heads have teamed up to release their song, “Young Dreamers”, a a f**k you anthem to anyone who tries to stamp on your dreams. To celebrate the release, they’re having a big old party at Solbar. Their mates Chamber Lane will also be there, all from 7pm.

Underground hip-hop stoner outfit Cone Headz will be at Namcore on Saturday from 5pm to promote their new music.

DJ Havana Brown, DJ Brooklyn and DJ Jonny Sonic will crank up the volume for The Station’s Opening Weekend’s over-18 Dance Party from 6.30pm. There’s even bus transfers available for this one, so be sure to leave the kid at home! Tickets: here.

Saturday night brings a bunch of heavy hitters to Nambour, with Chaotic Uprising set to bring six bands from across the Aussie east-coast for one night of metal mayhem. Up-coming hardcore bad boys, from Newcastle, Grip Down, will headline the event, with Gold Coast heavy weights Blindside and Consequence. Also on the bill are local legends Flesh Torrent, and our heaviest heffers of all, The 5’th Column.

Chaotic Uprising is the first mini-fest by local heavy band, Rimmy Grasa, in partnership with Nambour music promo store, Namcore. The intimate venue will bring live hardcore chaos to a new level, kicking off at 6pm at The Presynct, Nambour. Cost is $25. Tickets: here.

Eumundi Coffee Roasters Presents Anthems in Eden on Saturday, a celebration of traditional folk music and a remembrance of ancient magic, where the songs and stories of old are brought to life in a raw and authentic expression. Four incredible acts Finch, Greasy Bennett, Anjali Leonard and Brodie Buttons will take to the stage from 4.30pm, with food and drinks available on the night. Sunday, March 3:

Soundz Like Nambour is an all-ages gig on Sunday celebrating local bands and featuring Trillions, Ballpoint and Sailing in Space, at Namcore. The underground music showcase shop will also launch its 15-track Mix Tape, with seven acts from the playlist playing from 1pm. There’s also prize bag giveaways. Tickets: $10.

Celebrations continue at The Station for their Opening Weekend with local dance party sensations Raw Ordio plus fusion funk band Ampersand. It’s another all-ages gig, and this place even has its own skate ramp so BYO kids and skateboards! Tickets: here.

Make a lunch booking at The Tamarind, Maleny, and enjoy the smooth sounds of live jazz music among the magical rainforest on the first and third Sunday of every month, from 12pm-3pm. Jazz in the Forest is all about sultry jazz sounds in a warm and cosy forest setting and award-winning modern Asian cuisine, making for an indulgent afternoon that truly wows the senses. Will Outridge brings his carefully crafted work to Solbar from 5.30pm. Will shares stories of his life through his music, with bright and intricate guitar riffs, sincere lyrics, and dynamic vocals.
