Thursday:
Sofar Sounds will gather local beatniks for an evening of music and art at Studio 53 Art & Surf Culture, Coolum Beach. Surrounded by vintage surfboards hanging from the ceiling, and expressive art pieces lining its walls, there will be refreshments and live music from La Felipe, Samson Foxx and Daniel Aaron. Tickets.
Also on Thursday, Tay Oskee brings his feel-good folk and roots music to Solbar, Maroochydore, following the release of his stunning debut album, “Keepers Of The Morning”. Tay has a major Spotify streaming situation and has played with The Cat Empire, Ziggy Alberts and Mike Love. Joined by Brook Street, his show promises to be the ultimate chillax time with friends. Each night until Saturday, a new theatre collective out of Buderim will bring Broadway musical favourite, A Chorus Line, to Caloundra’s The Events Centre. If you love the razzle dazzle, dance and theatrics this is for you. Tickets.
The Bantry Clan comes to the Coast’s newest live music venue, The Presynct, Nambour, featuring young violin virtuoso Seamus Butler, for a night of Irish and folk fun. Tickets are $5 on the door.
Friday:
The famous red mullet and his punk rock band, The Chats (main photo), will return to their hometown for their Australian east-coast tour. Eamon Sandwith formed the band with St. Teresa’s Catholic College alumni, Josh Price, AKA Pricey, and Matt Boggs, in 2016. The lads met in the Noosaville high school’s music class, and while the cheeky frontman has a new crew these days, this will be a big one. Supporting them are Mean Jeans (USA), The Prize, The Ghoulies, The Unknowns, and Boondall Boys. Tickets.
The Events Centre at Caloundra has the giggles with the reigning deckhead of Australian comedy, Tommy Little here on Friday. His razor-sharp wit, wild stories and infectious energy is guaranteed to deliver an hour that will leave you in stitches. Tickets.
Saturday:
Angry Anderson, and Rose Tattoo, are coming to belt out some classic Aussie rock at Norton’s Music Factory, Caloundra West. Angry says the band’s next adventure falls under the rock banner of the “southern stars” and our “great southern land”. Fly the patriotic rock flag at Norton’s on Saturday. Tickets.
Taylor Henderson performs at The Brewery, Imperial Hotel Eumundi, on Saturday. The X Factor runner-up has become one of Australia’s most loved artists with his endearing, acoustic-pop melodies. Fan-favourite song, “Borrow My Heart”, is now a quadruple platinum-selling single. Tickets.
Also on Saturday, Soundbox Live brings an eclectic mix of electronic genres, including funky house, live electronica and drum n’ bass, across two stages at Nambour Showgrounds, 80 Coronation Ave, Nambour. Featuring K+LAB, Mood Swing & Chevy Bass, this pumping dance festival will also showcase some of the Coast’s best DJs. Boom!
Sunday:
Solbar offers an incredible Sunday afternoon of music excellence, with critically-acclaimed, pop powerhouse Sahara Beck bringing her much-anticipated album, “All Attention On Your Emotions”, to the Ocean Street venue. Sahara delves into the complexities of the human condition with her theatrical storytelling and colourful sonic artistry.
Renowned for her magnetic stage presence and unparalleled showmanship, Sahara has graced illustrious venues and festivals across the globe, from captivating audiences at Glastonbury Festival and at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall.
