Patricia McInerney (pictured) can turn even the most unusual music venues into a stage for Sunshine Coast musicians.
She runs artist-led production company, Basket Of Hammers, which puts the spotlight on the vibrant world of experimental music.
A vocalist herself, Patricia performs as Diaspora The Explorer. She will bring her hauntingly-beautiful sounds and dark-doom gaze to Bli Bli’s The Old Church on Saturday night.
In its second year, The Glooming is a collaboration with 4000 records, and is a feast for the gothic scenes, showcasing post-punk, dark-wave, bands in other-worldly spaces.
You can also catch the show in Brisbane at The Bearded Lady tonight, with doors from 7.30pm.

Communities to thrive in unusual music venues
Patricia, who launched the business in 2012, wants creativity in communities to flourish, with something for everyone.
“We are passionate about creating immersive multi-disciplinary experiences that challenge conventions
and breathe life into under-utilised and unexpected spaces,” she says.
“A core pillar of our vision is to facilitate the discovery of local musicians and artists who often exist
on the fringes of recognition.
“Through our platform, we offer the opportunity to find profound social connection in music and art consumption.
“We believe in the power of art and music to connect people, inspire, and provoke thought.”
Halloween a popular time for unusual music venues
Basket Of Hammers hosts a variety of experiences throughout the year, including the main event, Samhain, in October.
Enigmatic by nature, ticket holders to Samhain embark on a thrilling journey. They receive a cryptic message unveiling the location just two days prior, with the artist lineup revealed on arrival.
Patricia works with unusual music venues and artists in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
“Whether you’re an artist yearning for a platform to showcase your work, a music-lover eager to unearth new sounds, or simply an individual seeking fresh and exhilarating ways to engage with art and music, we warmly invite you to join us on this exciting journey.
“Together, we will continue to shape the artistic landscape of our region, forging profound connections through the potent force of creativity.”
