The Barleyshakes will bring fiddles, banjo, flutes, mandolin, vocals, and traditional Irish dancing to The Sunshine Beach Surf Club for St Pat’s Day, March 16.
The local’s favourite beachside venue will also be showing off a newly-renovated function space for the day.
A traditional Irish show is also on offer, with a two-course dinner and drink specials to quench those strong Celtic thirsts.
A refreshing Irish sound
Brewed in Ireland and distilled in Australia, The Shakes are adored world-wide for their refreshing Irish sound, and are winners of the Queensland Music Award for World Music.
Since their inception in Dublin in the 90s, they have been drumming up festive frivolities, with traditional favourites and original material.
They recently returning from a tour of Tasmania and playing at Woodford Folk Festival.
With an intense energy, beautiful harmony, and irresistible dance rhythms, their mission has always been to inject new life into Irish storytelling, while honouring the past.
The Shakes, who have shared the stage with major music names such as Christy Moore, Damien Dempsey, Metallica, Joe Cocker, are true multi-instrumentalists, also playing tin whistle, bodhran, bass, guitar and drums.
The fabulous SAR Irish dancers have put together a special dance set for the night. Tickets to the show are limited, so early booking is advised.
