A few lucky revellers have partied at a mini-rave held by electro-duo Peking Duk at the Sunshine Coast’s Big Pineapple.
The lads from Canberra posted this photo to their socials last month, beaming with excitement.
The pair are headlining the Big Pineapple Music Festival on October 19.
However, they landed here earlier than expected to help celebrate the launch of a new DJ category on Twitch.
The streaming platform is designed to make sure DJs can stream copyrighted songs from a vast library.
Peking Duk were projected on a big screen in New York City’s Time Square as part of the 24-hour event.
Big Pineapple Festival organiser called in to help
Big Pineapple Festival organiser Mark Pico says he was called at the last minute to help find the perfect spot.
“Peking Duk were chosen to represent Australia (for the global launch),” Mark says.
“Their manager asked me if I could find them a venue.
“I told him I had something way bigger and better than a venue.
“He loved the idea. And we put it together in a week.
“It was also a big secret as we didn’t want 5000 people turning up. Just 40.
“But it was a super good vibe and such a magical feeling. Everybody could feel it.”
The DJ/producer pair, Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles, were recently part of a digital marketing drive for Bunnings.
They helped host a warehouse rave with fellow EDM artists What So Not and Kaila.
