Maleny music legend Col Finley has launched the Country Stars Awards in search of Australia’s next big country music star.
The awards will be held on May 31 to coincide with the Maleny Show.
The event will see 19 semi-finalists vying to share in more than $20,000 in cash and prizes in two major categories: Junior (12-17 years) and Senior (18 years+).
Semi-finalists will perform from 1pm, culminating in a grand final on June 1, from 2pm.
The Country Stars Awards will also feature guest performances from Col Finley, Nellie Finley, Shanleigh Rose, Nyssa Ray, and rising star Billy Gudgeon.
The 2025 Country Stars nominations opens on September 1.
Pheobe Rose shines in new awards

Phoebe Rose (pictured), of Palmview, is one of the junior stars.
Phoebe’s captivating and evocative songwriting draws inspiration from the poetic moodiness of Phoebe Bridgers, Jewel, and Noah Cyrus.
Col says Phoebe’s vocals complement her expressive songwriting. And show off a raw vulnerability and maturity to her performance style that transcends her years.
“She’s a true multi-instrumentalist and renowned for her unforgettable stage presence,” Col says.
