Woolloongabba: Canadian rock band Simple Plan has announced a second and final show at Fortitude Music Hall on April 15 next year.
The band announced the news on Facebook, with one excited fan showing off a colourful dedication.
“Thank you to all our amazing Aussie fans for all the love and support, and selling out all these dates,” they said.
“We always jump at the chance to spend more time Down Under so we couldn’t be more grateful.”
Casey Hodge responded to the post: “Got my tattoo today cant wait to see u guys in brisbane”.
Joining them will be fellow pop-punk royals, Boys Like Girls and We The Kings, and pop princess Jax, who is responsible for catchy song, “Victoria’s Secret”.
Revered for their timeless and immersive live performances, as well as smash singles including, “I’m Just a Kid” and “Welcome to My Life”, Simple Plan’s touring history spans Blink-182, Green Day, Avril Lavigne and Good Charlotte, as well as festival sets such as at their most recent Australia appearance at Good Things Festival in 2019.
In a statement they said they were “long overdue” to perform in the country.
“We’re stoked to add our friend Jax to the tour – she’s amazing and we know our fans will be thrilled to see her perform.
“This line-up is insane and we can’t wait to see you all in April.”
Formed in Montreal in 1999, Simple Plan has been an indelible part of pop culture for more than two decades releasing their latest album, “Harder than it Looks” in 2022.
They have sold more than 10 million albums worldwide, achieving MTV superstardom and a viral TikTok status.
Simple Plan is donating $1 from each ticket sold on tour to the Simple Plan Foundation, which they established in 2005 and focuses on helping young people in need by showing them how music can be used as a tool to find purpose and direction in life.
Since its inception the foundation has donated more than $2 million to various charities in their home country.
Early bird pre-sale tickets for the extra show will be released on November 6.
