BREAKING: Tonight’s Sum 41 show in Brisbane has been cancelled as frontman Deryck Whibley has been diagnosed with pneumonia.
The band said on social media on Wednesday afternoon:
“Unfortunately, we have to make the difficult decision to cancel tonight’s show in Brisbane due to Deryck being diagnosed with pneumonia,” it reads.
“He is receiving the best possible local care and we are working with the promoter to make sure all ticket buyers for tonight’s show are refunded and will let you know more soon.” – Sum 41
It comes as Sacramento’s DESTROY BOYS announce they can no longer perform at Good Things this year:
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, we will have to cancel our appearance at Good Things and Australia shows. To our Aussie fans – we are sorry we can’t make it this time, and we can’t wait to meet you in the future!” – Destroy Boys
Destroy All Lines have advised patrons attending tonight’s Sum 41 Brisbane show can receive refunds via the point of purchase.
It is unknown if Sum 41 will play at Good Things Festival, which is on December 6, 7 and 8, in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane respectively.
