The Big Pineapple Festival is nearly here! Here’s everything you need to know

The countdown is on for the Sunshine Coast’s biggest and juiciest live music event of the year, the Big Pineapple Festival!

Some of Australia’s biggest artists including The Amity Affliction, Tones & I and Peking Duk are set to take over Woombye’s famous Pineapple Fields on October 19.

There will be exotic foods, fancy-dress competitions, the famous lantern parade, a Piney sing-along, and the inaugural Great Australian Pineapple Toss with Olympic champ Steven Bradbury.

Final-release tickets are $155, while camping is an additional $60 per person.

The 16,500 capacity festival is likely to sell out, so grab your tickets now!

Transport to the Big Pineapple Festival

Planning your journey to Piney Fest is essential for a smooth and enjoyable experience.

Important: Transportation options are limited. The shuttle bus service which operates from Nambour Showgrounds is your best bet. Be sure to grab your $12 bus ticket here!

Here’s what you need to know:

  • You must pre-book your bus tickets via the Oztix website
  • Choose your time slot when booking—first in, best dressed!
  • There’s 10 bus locations across the Sunshine Coast
  • All tickets are round-trip, so no need to worry about getting back.
  • We’ve got plenty of shuttles to keep wait times short and sweet.
  • No public pick-up/drop-off at the festival site, except for taxis.
  • Rideshares (including Uber) will take you to Nambour Showgrounds, where you then will hop on a free shuttle (which run every 10-20 minutes) to the festival.
  • Nambour Showgrounds is the designated area for patron parking. While it’s free to park, spots are limited. 
  • Avoid fines by not stopping along Nambour Connection Road.

Festival highlights

Camping: Ready to immerse yourself in the full festival experience? Spend the weekend camping in the vibrant Pineapple Fields.

There are several camping options including a BYO option where you can bring your own gear, or you can rent some for the two nights.

All campers must purchase a ticket if they wish to camp as camping tickets are per person, not per site. One camping ticket = both nights, October 18 and 19.
