Spilt Milk Festival 2024 is cancelled

July 27, 20241 min read

Gold Coast tourism is set to take a hit with Spilt Milk Festival becoming the latest music festival to be cancelled in Australia this year.

More than 35,000 people attended the Gold Coast festival last year to see massive global acts such as Post Malone and Dom Dolla.

Spilt Milk has four stops on its annual national lap: Canberra, Gold Coast, Ballarat and Perth.

Organisers wrote on Instagram on Friday:”Sorry pookies, we couldn’t get you the Spilt Milk you deserve this year,” the post read. “Sooo imma dip for a bit and come back when I can make all ur dreams come true.”

It comes after Caloundra Music Festival, Splendour in the Grass and Groovin the Moo announced their shows would be also cancelled this year, blaming the rising costs of living.

However, the Sunshine Coast’s music industry isn’t showing signs of slowing down with The Big Weekend Festival at Coolum on July 13 selling out to a sweet 600-strong crowd.

And Big Pineapple Festival organiser Mark Pico says tickets to his festival on October 19 are more than half sold.

Organisers are hopeful Spilt Milk can return next year.
