America’s musical sweetheart Taylor Swift will release a film to coincide with her new album “The Life of a Showgirl”, out on December 3.
Announced yesterday on Instagram, Swift said her 12th album would coincide with a 89-minute movie titled, “Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl”.
The movie will be shown across the US and in 18 other countries, including Canada, the UK and Australia, from December 3-5.
She said in her post: “I hereby invite you to a *dazzling* soirĂ©e…
“You’ll get to see the exclusive world premiere of the music video for my new single ‘The Fate of Ophelia’…
“Along with never before seen behind-the-scenes footage of how we made it. (And) cut by cut explanations of what inspired this music, and the brand new lyric videos from my new album.
“Looks like it’s time to brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan… Dancing is optional but very much encouraged.”
Swift’s Eras Tour came to Australia in February 2024, selling more than 280,000 tickets, with shows in Melbourne and Sydney.
AMC Theatres Distribution said the mega-diva’s movie would eventually be screened in 100 countries world-wide.
“Initially, the movie will play in theatres on October 3, 4 and/or 5 in Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand,” their website states.
Tickets for shows in these 18 countries will go on sale on Tuesday, September 23 (US time). Tickets to Swift’s US shows are on sale now.
