Alex by the Sea brought a burst of surf-rock energy to Alexandra Headland on Saturday with Day One taking over Buhk Family Park beside Alex Surf Club.

Headlined by Skegss, the event featured Beddy Rays, The Buoys, Letters to Lions, Vlads and Camino Gold, with Adam Newling.

Opening the festival was much-loved Sunshine Coast emerging act and competition winners ChAMBER LANe.

Hosted by Alex Surf Club’s Bluff Bar, the Saturday program took aim at a younger crowd, all to raise funds for the club’s lifesaving operations.

Day Two continued on Sunday with a more classic coastal singalong feel, headlined by Australian music icon Ross Wilson and featuring tribute performances celebrating Fleetwood Mac, INXS with Dellacoma Rio and Queen.

Festival timeline

Bluff Fest started Alex Surf Club’s outdoor festival run in 2024, when the club marked its 100-year celebrations with a sold-out event featuring The Grogans, The Terrys and Shag Rock.
Alex by the Sea followed in 2025, expanding the format into a two-day winter festival with Slowly Slowly, The Vanns, Pseudo Echo, Dragon and Taxiride.
Bluff Fest returned later that year, making this weekend’s Alex by the Sea the club’s fourth outdoor music festival across the two event brands.
The events bring national touring names and local artists to the region, while raising money for the surf club’s lifesaving work.
