Anthony Brand mixes Birds of Tokyo and Springsteen in breakup bop

Sunshine Coast native Anthony Brand has a new song and it couldn’t be more aptly titled.

The Brisbane-based, singer-songwriter takes clear directions from greats such as Bruce Springsteen in his latest banger “Dead to You”.

While the former journalist is no longer writing about the journeys of others, Anthony’s second single illustrates his undeniable story-telling abilities.

And when it comes to love affairs and relationship dead-ends, Anthony has more than a few tales up his sleeve.

With nostalgic, summertime, 90s pub-rock grooves, it could be just what the world needs to take notice of Anthony’s diversity and talent.

Take a listen to Anthony Brand in his new song, “Dead to You”.

With a sound reminiscent of fave Aussie all-timers, Birds Of Tokyo, the sure-to-be hit captures both the sanity and lunacy of relationships.

“This song has a morbid name (laughs) but it’s uplifting at the same time. I love that
juxtaposition,” Anthony says.

“It’s about when someone isn’t going to be in your life anymore and you both know it. That
could be a lover, friend, anyone.

“It’s about dealing with finality and finding strength in continuing your journey without
them.”

“Dead to You” follows Anthony’s Johnny Cash-esque killer debut single “Moment to Arrive”.

“I just hope my songs can give people a sense of peace and hope like my heroes do for me.

“There’s no greater feeling than someone telling you they love your song. I can’t wait to hit
the stage and play.”

Have a listen and compare them! You dig?

Anthony Brand impresses with ‘super-group’ lineup in new track

Anthony Brand’s latest song was recorded and mixed by three-times Grammy Award-Winning Engineer John Hudson.

John has produced for many incredible artists including Tina Turner, Radiohead, Adele, Kylie Minogue, Kasabian, Robbie Williams, The Bee Gees, Travis, Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys, Madonna and Amy Winehouse.

And his world-class fingerprints are all over this guitar-driven beauty.

Anthony (vocals/guitar) has put together a formidable band including drummer Tony McCall (Wolfmother, Jamiroquai, Regurgitator, Phil Jamieson, Resin Dogs, Butterfingers) and Nashville’s own piano/keys legend Billy Livsey (Tina Turna, Gerry Rafferty, Kenny Rogers). And also in the ‘super-group’ lineup is highly-acclaimed session and live musician Jack Hudson on bass.

Anthony has confirmed there are more releases on the way.
