A punk partnership stretching back to the 1980s is heading to Queensland, with the Hard-Ons and Poison Idea vocalist Jerry A playing the Gold Coast and Brisbane in March 2027.
The Hard-Ons and Jerry A will play Vinnies Dive on the Gold Coast on March 20, 2027, before heading to The Brightside in Brisbane on March 21.
The shows are the final stops on a 13-date Australian tour.
From shared stages to a full album
The Hard-Ons first toured with Poison Idea in the late 1980s and recorded with Jerry A as a guest vocalist in 1993. They’ve crossed paths repeatedly since, including shows together overseas.
“We toured and collaborated a few times before and always talked about getting serious… well here’s the start of that. Hard-Ons with Jerry A!! It’s happening,” Hard-Ons guitarist Blackie said in the tour announcement.
The new line-up released its collaborative album Hard-Ons/Jerry A in August 2026, following the earlier single ‘You Won’t Shut Up’ / ‘Dead End Turnaround’.
Formed in 1982, the Hard-Ons have spent more than four decades crossing punk rock with metal, power pop and psychedelia. Jerry A is best known for fronting Portland hardcore outfit Poison Idea.
Before reaching Queensland, the tour visits Woy Woy, Adelaide, Perth, Margaret River, Canberra, Geelong, Melbourne, Frankston, Hobart, Newcastle and Sydney.
