Imperial Hotel Eumundi has a new look

April 23, 20243 min read

The Comiskey Group’s revamp of the Imperial Hotel Eumundi will bring a feeling of yesteryear to the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

The pub developers, and owners of local music venue mainstays Sandstanone Point and Eatons Hill Hotels, have released pictures of the historic hotel’s extensive internal renovation.

Paying homage to its rich history, the design elements are reminiscent of an “old school” pub.

The walls will memorialise the hotel’s colourful history, lined with nostalgic photos of its past, and a classic “gentlemanly”, retro look.

From tartan carpets to pressed metal ceilings, brassy finishes and shades of green, the hotel will offer clean lines and vintage, brassy finishes.

A tribute to the past for Imperial Hotel Eumundi

“We have historical photos of bullocks grazing outside the hotel and horses parked outside on dirt streets,” Comiskey Group director Rob Comiskey says.

“The photos are really cool, and we can’t wait to put them up for our visitors to see.

“From the very start, the brief remained the same, we wanted to celebrate the history of the pub.

“The Imperial Hotel is over 100 years old. It burnt down in 1926 and has been reimagined numerous times.”

Established in 1911, the pub has become a long-standing and cherished community landmark.

“But one thing has remained the same – it’s been a local favourite watering hole.

“As the new custodians of this incredible property, we want to keep it that way.

“We have hand-selected materials and textiles which really hone in on the old-school.

“Think antique mirrors and timber skirting.”

Stage one of the renovation is already underway and will see a new front bar, gaming room, and TAB. It is expected to be finished in four months.

Stage two will see a beer garden, bar, toilets, restaurant, kitchen area and kids’ games room. It is expected to be one of the largest on the Coast, with some “unexpected features”.

Imperial Hotel Eumundi is a well-known fixture of the Coast, and sits across from the world-class Eumundi Markets.

Boutique accomodation will get new magnesium spa

At the back of the new property at Imperial Hotel Eumundi is the hotel’s boutique accommodation, formerly known as HOLA.

Now known as The Imperial Hotel Boutique Accommodation, the new-look hotel will gain a heated pool and magnesium spa as part of the changes.

The accomodation will be open for guests in four weeks.
