Noosa band launches debut single

January 31, 20241 min read

It’s finally here!

Noosa funk-fusion band Ampersand has launched their debut single “Originality” to family, friends and fans at Solbar on Sunday.

Yelo music writer and Ampersand’s pianoman and manager Jarrod Tutbury – who has written several pieces for Yelo including The Coast’s Top 5 Recording Studios and How to Start A Band – said after three years of performing together it felt “surreal” to be celebrating their first recorded piece.

“I’m very grateful and proud of what the band has accomplished as an independent group literally run out of the back shed,” he said.

“We couldn’t have achieved this without the support and help of so many people along the way.

“We have to thank Scott and Justin from Yama Nui Studios for doing such an amazing job recording the chaos of a band who had practically no studio experience, just big ideas.

“Paul Blakey put the polish on top with spectacular mastering work. We’re also hugely appreciative to Flying Arts Alliance for funding the recording process through their Regional Arts Grants program.”

“Originality” captures Ampersand’s trademark sass, snark and smooth rapport from their live shows.

You can stream “Originality” by heading to the band’s website www.ampersandbandnoosa or via their Instagram page @ampersandbandnoosa.
