Nu-metal band VERATIE release debut single

September 4, 20241 min read

Listen up goth heads.

Fans of Linkin Park, Evanescence, Paramore and Muse will love the debut single from Sunshine Coast nu-metal band VERATIE.

“Ashes” unveils an otherworldly beauty from frontwoman Sarah, whose dark and dreamy vocals dissect the fragility of the human experience.

Have a listen to VERATIE’s debut single.

With every soul-splitting riff, the track’s resurrection metaphor asks the listener to stand up against self-destruction.

Sarah says the lyrics offer “an unflinching analysis of the relationships we have with others and with ourselves.

“And the fight to reclaim identity,” she says.

Sarah formed VERATIE with guitarist and beatmaker Connor in 2021.

Together they weave synth and heavy guitars, with relentless rhythm and soaring melodic and rap vocals.

VERATIE has already supported The Halo Effect (Europe), Beyond the Black (Europe), Redhook, Devilskin (New Zealand), Lagerstein and Krave.

The official music video, out on September 8, was conceptualised by Sarah and features fire dancers from her performance community.

VERATIE’s fingerprints are seen across the whole process from the underlying narrative to costume and set design.

“Ashes” forms part of the band’s upcoming album, “IN//HUMAN”.
