Parkway Drive to play two Brisbane album shows

June 24, 20262 min read

Parkway Drive will return to Brisbane in August for two special shows celebrating landmark albums Killing With A Smile and Horizons.

The Byron Bay metal band will play The Fortitude Music Hall on August 15 and 16 as part of its newly announced Killing Horizons Tour.

Each city on the national run will receive two different shows. The first night will feature Killing With A Smile performed in full, while the second will be dedicated to Horizons.

The band will also play a selection of fan favourites across the two nights.

The Brisbane dates arrive more than 20 years after Parkway Drive formed on the NSW North Coast before growing into one of Australia’s biggest heavy music exports.

Released in 2005, Killing With A Smile was the band’s debut album. Horizons followed in 2007 and helped push Parkway Drive onto international stages.

The August tour will also visit Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney, with two shows scheduled in each city.

Scrutiny over former employee

The tour announcement comes amid continued scrutiny over Parkway Drive’s former merchandise manager Jed Gordon, the brother of drummer Ben Gordon, who was sentenced in May over a sexual offence involving a 15-year-old girl.

The band has since cut ties with Gordon, condemned the offence and acknowledged responsibility for employing him over many years.

Tickets go on sale at noon on Thursday, June 25.
