A packed crowd gathered for Bailey Zimmerman as Strummingbird took over Kawana Sports Precinct on October 18, with Sons of the East among 18 acts across two stages.
Strummingbird staged its second Sunshine Coast edition after a sold-out 2025 debut that drew 28,000 fans. This year’s country, folk and Americana program brought Bailey Zimmerman, Tyler Childers, Cooper Alan, James Johnston, Sons of the East and more to Bokarina.
There was plenty beyond the performances, from line dancing to the festival’s Strummo Bowlo. Photographer Melissa Kendrick described the crowd for Zimmerman’s set as packed, and her photographs capture the scale and colour of the day.
