A free four-day fishing festival with more than $150,000 in prizes is coming to Sandstone Point Hotel this week, with Taxiride and Diesel providing the live-music soundtrack.
The inaugural Anaconda Fishing Festival will take over the Moreton Bay venue from September 24-27, combining a major catch-and-release fishing competition with live music, family entertainment, cooking demonstrations and waterfront activities.
Entry to the festival is free, although registration is required.

Taxiride will perform at Sandstone Point Hotel on September 26, followed by Diesel on September 27.
The weekend program also includes seafood cooking demonstrations, casting displays, roaming performers, kites and other family entertainment.
The fishing competition is open to anglers competing by boat, kayak or from the shoreline, with catches recorded under a catch-and-release format and displayed on a live leaderboard.
$150,000-plus prize pool
Organisers say more than $150,000 in prizes will be available across the four-day competition.
The overall champion angler will win a Tiwi Islands fishing adventure valued at $55,850 for up to 10 people, while another major prize is a Gulf Runner boat package with a 40hp Yamaha engine and trailer valued at $27,999.
The event is a new partnership between Anaconda and Sandstone Point Hotel owner the Comiskey Group.
