The Jungle Giants are bringing their new album tour to Blackflag Brewing Coolum this August.

The Brisbane indie favourites will play the Sunshine Coast venue on August 21 as part of their Experiencing Feelings of Joy tour.

The run marks a return to Australian stages for the four-piece, who are touring with their fifth studio album Experiencing Feelings of Joy.

Support on the Coolum date will come from The Tullamarines and Tear Drive.

A Sunshine Coast stop for a Brisbane band

The Jungle Giants have spent years building one of the country’s most reliable live reputations, moving from scrappy Brisbane indie beginnings into bigger rooms, festival stages and a stream of glossy, hook-heavy releases.

The band’s new tour arrives with fresh material from Experiencing Feelings of Joy, a record already being framed as a new chapter for the group.

According to the official event listing, the tour follows five years of international touring and brings the band back to local stages with what is being pitched as a bold new evolution of their sound.

For Sunshine Coast fans, the Blackflag date is a good get. It gives the region a proper club-scale headline show from a Queensland band with a long track record of packed rooms and festival pull.

Blackflag keeps pulling touring names

The Coolum show also adds to Blackflag Brewing’s growing run as one of the Sunshine Coast’s more active live music rooms, with the venue continuing to land national and international touring acts alongside local programming.

Enter Shikari also play at the venue this Sunday night, adding to a busy stretch of heavy-hitting shows at the venue.

It is a win for the Coast. Blackflag gives touring bands a proper place to stop in Coolum, and gives local crowds a big-name show without the Brisbane mission.

When is The Jungle Giants playing Coolum?

The Jungle Giants play Blackflag Brewing Coolum on Friday, August 21. Doors are listed for 6pm and the event is 18-plus.

Tickets are on sale now via Moshtix. At the time of writing, general admission is listed at $97.92 including fees.
