THE PRESETS WILL PLAY AT THE STATION FIRST BIRTHDAY WITH HUGE WEEKEND OF MUSIC

Australian electronic music duo The Presets will headline a weekend of festivities for Sunshine Coast live music venue The Station.

The Birtinya shipping-container entertainment precinct is celebrating its first year of business from February 28 to March 2.

The Presets will play on the Saturday night, March 1. Also performing will be Crooked Colours and Haiku Hands, with more acts, activities and entertainment to be announced soon.

The Big One will also offer plenty of family-friendly entertainment, food, and beverages across the weekend.

It’s expected to be their largest musical celebration yet, with festivities until midnight.

The Station owners Chris and Lauren Hignett say they’re “overjoyed” to celebrate with the community that “has supported them every step of the way”.

“This milestone marks an incredible year of music, connection, and unforgettable memories,” they say.

The venue sold more than 20,000 tickets last year, according to the Hignetts.

“From hosting world-class artists to providing a space for diverse events, we believe that we have created something truly special on the Coast.

“This celebration is our way of giving back, with an epic weekend of music, pride, and community spirit.

“We can’t wait to see everyone come together to make more memories and set the stage for an even brighter future for The Station.”

The Station has become a diverse attraction

With huge international artists gracing the stage in their first year, the former Nightquarter venue has become a re-invigorated hub for industry events.

It offers a diverse space, from small scale productions to major touring entertainment. And it is also now home to Team Musicare.

The Temper Trap headlined The Station’s opening weekend party. And the acts haven’t stopped coming, with Rudimental and Xavier Rudd yet to play this year.

This first birthday will also celebrate the re-launch of the Sunshine Coast Pride Network, with a Big Vibes chill-out event on Sunday.

The Station is in the running for a publicly-voted People’s Choice Award at the Queensland Music Awards, nominated for Best Regional Venue of the Year. You can vote here: https://www.qmusic.com.au.
