What’s on the Sunshine Coast in live music and entertainment this weekend? Go to yelo.live/gigs for our complete guide.
The Sunshine Coast offers a vibrant live music and entertainment scene, boasting one of the highest populations of musicians per capita in Australia.
From Caloundra to Noosa, each township boasts a huge variety of musical happenings, from the chilled-out Troubadour Wagons in the Maroochy Botanical Gardens, to the all-out, carpark punk-rock shows at Blackflag Brewing in Coolum.
Nambour’s underground scene is quickly becoming a heavy metal epicentre for the region, while The Station continues to bring in some of the biggest touring acts.
So, get amongst it sunshiny people. And make sure you give a nod and a wink to the musicians entertaining you wherever you end up! (Girls night at Solbar, ladies?)
What: This week we put the spotlight on Karaka Orchestra and their SWEET SWEAT SET– a raw, boundary-blurring percussion experience. Feel the electrifying power of their newest show where the boundaries of percussion are pushed to their limits. Dark, raw, and scungy, it’s a wild ride of poly-rhythmic beats and untamed energy.
Acclaimed conductor Chucho Bruno brings together artists from across the globe and the Coast for an unforgettable sonic ritual that is as much physical as it is musical This is percussion at its most untamed.
