YELO has launched a new Artist Toolkit for Queensland musicians, bringing grants, gig advice, festival applications, pay guides and industry contacts into one practical hub.
The new resource is designed to make some of the less glamorous parts of being an independent artist easier to navigate, from finding funding and applying for showcases to working out gig pay, preparing an EPK and finding studios or industry services.
The YELO Artist Toolkit is built as a living set of guides rather than a one-off feature, which means pages can be updated as grants open, deadlines move and new opportunities appear.
What is in the YELO Artist Toolkit?
The toolkit currently includes:

The idea is simple: instead of musicians having to hunt across government sites, industry pages, old articles and social posts, YELO can keep useful local information in one place and point people to the official source when it matters.
Queensland Arts Project Fund closes September 21
One of the first live deadlines in the new grants guide is the Queensland Arts Project Fund, which closes on September 21.
The current Arts Queensland round includes funding of up to $70,000 in its General and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander streams, while the Individuals stream offers up to $20,000. Additional access support may also be available for eligible disability-related project costs.
The guide is also tracking the Touring Queensland Fund, which is offering up to $100,000 for Queensland touring projects and closes October 12.
