Big Red Bash teases 2027 return to Birdsville

October 2, 20261 min read

Birdsville’s Big Red Bash is stirring again, with the outback festival dropping a fresh teaser as it prepares to return in 2027.

The festival posted a simple eyes emoji on social media on Friday, October 2, signalling that more news is close.

What is already confirmed is the return date: July 6–8, 2027, at the Big Red dune near Birdsville in western Queensland.

The 2026 Big Red Bash was cancelled after heavy rain and flooding inundated the festival site. Organisers later said the majority of artists originally booked for 2026 had committed to the 2027 event.

Big Red Bash 2027 details coming soon

The festival’s official website is currently telling fans that full 2027 details are “coming soon”, with mailing-list subscribers promised first access to the next announcement.

For now, the teaser is enough to put Birdsville back on the Queensland festival radar after a disrupted couple of years.
