Dave Grohl has divided fans worldwide with news that he is expecting a baby with a woman outside of his marriage.
In a statement on Instagram the 55-year-old Foo Fighters frontman says: “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage.
“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.
“We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
Dave’s fans say the news is not a reason to stop playing his music. Others say they won’t be listening to Foo Fighters any longer.
In a Facebook fan group, Dave’s followers have weighed in.
Tonya Grimm says: “I think someone was trying to blackmail him and this put a stop to it.”
Jenny Auer says “I used to think he was trustworthy not no more”, while Jenny Wiley says it shouldn’t stop anyone from playing his music.
“So he cheated… so what. Does it affect your life? No? Get over it,” Jenny Wiley says.
Christine Huite Sohnrey says it shouldn’t come as a surprise as “he’s had a long history of infidelity.”
Dave has three other daughters, Violet, Harper and Ophelia, with his wife Jordyn Blum of 21 years (pictured).
