Coolum: Calling all rappers, emcees, R&B enthusiasts, and new-wave melodic masters!
If you’ve been cooking up in the stu’ and wondering where to play or simply craving some sample chops, dirty drums and big baselines, Coolum now has a home for you.
The Sunshine Coast’s most exclusive Hip-Hop/R&B open mic Hip-Hop Haven is bringing the beats on Saturday night, with the aim to nurture and promote the local hip hop scene.
“Our mission is to create a safe and welcoming space for local talent to take flight on stage and for fans to find their hidden gems,” organisers said.
If you’re ready to face the music, there’s eight spots still up for grabs with each act to share three tracks on stage.
DJ Water South will be cutting, scratching, and spinning classics, and latest drops from 5.30pm, and throughout the night while artists deliver their best.

After running their last few headline shows in Brisbane these boi’s are back to showcase what it means to be an emcee on the Sunny Coast for Hip-Hop Haven.
VENUE
By day, Woodstack serves some of the best coffee in Coolum Beach, but by night they transform into a fully-licensed bar that serves the best brisket in town.
The kitchen will open from 5pm so come down and fuel up before the show and catch a vibe with DJ Water South before the night heats up.
Acts must be aged over 16 years to perform.
So if you’re keen for some soul samples, smooth singing and deep grooves, or for anyone needing some “808s with those fast hats” (don’t worry we had to Google that too), be sure to put this in your diary for Saturday!
