Groovin the Moo music festival won’t be happening this year.
Organisers of one of Australia’s most-loved regional touring festival made the announcement on Friday.
The last Groovin the Moo festival was held in 2023, and sold out in days.
Last year, the festival was expecting 35,000 revellers at the Sunshine Coast Stadium Precinct on May 5. But they were forced to cancel the event just months before.
The festival joins Splendour In The Grass which also recently confirmed they won’t be holding their festival in 2025.
Promoters of Groovin the Moo made a statement on social media on Friday. They said they are working on finding “the most sustainable model” for the festival.
Both festivals join a long line of Australian music festivals, which also faced the chopping board due to economic financial pressure.
“We will really miss seeing the smiling faces of all our beloved Moo Crew – and that means YOU!” the statement says.
“In the meantime, which artist would you most like to see on a GTM lineup?”
The final sentence suggests they are hopeful the cancelled festivals will one day return.
