Sunshine Coast punk band Deadheat are set to add a local flavour to Sunday’s Good Things Festival at Brisbane’s RNA Showgrounds.
The band will play at the 3.30pm at the Garage Stage, which offers a raw and unfiltered music experience from hand-picked local acts.
Also on that stage are Snake Mountain and Perpanic – from the Gold Coast – and Hard Luck Champions, The Silver Spurs and Whoroboros, all from Brisbane.
As Destroy Boys pulls out of the line-up, Australia’s Alex Lahey has been added, with a band from each city, including Brisbane’s Bad Neighbour.
Bad Neighbour will play at 1.50pm on Stage 5.
Another Brisbane band COSMICA will also perform, after winning the festival’s official Battle Of The Bands competition.
With over 220 bands and over 20 thousand votes in the pre-heat round, the competition spanned three local heats before the final battle took place last week.
Melbourne competition winner BODY PRISON will play in their home city, while PYREFLY is gearing up for their Sydney show.

Sum 41 cancel Australian tour
Fans have expressed their sadness after US band Sum 41 announced they will cancel their Australian tour after frontman Deryck Whibley fell ill with pneumonia.
In a statement on social media on Thursday the band said “they are gutted” they will be unable to perform.
Yesterday, the band had to cancel their Brisbane show at the eleventh hour after Deryck was diagnosed with the sickness.
Destroy All Lines advised patrons attending Sum 41‘s Brisbane show would receive refunds via the point of purchase.
Sum 41 fans jumped to support the band wishing the lead singer a speedy recovery.
Alex Lahey joins Good Things as Destroy Boys pulls out
Aussie alt-rock artist ALEX LAHEY is jumping in to replace Destroy Boys after they pulled out due to “unforseen circumstances”. Alex brings her melodically-charged and endlessly relatable anthems to a festival setting for Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. ALEX LAHEY‘s ability to find comfort in the discomfort has seen her in hot demand globally. She’s received two ARIA Award nominations and has secured pop-culture infamy on the soundtrack for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater1+2 and Sony Picture Animation’s The Mitchells vs. the Machines.
COSMICA joins Brisbane lineup after winning band competition
Adding the local flavour to Good Things Festival will be the winners of the official Battle Of The Bands competition. BODY PRISON will represent Melbourne, PYREFLY will play in Sydney, and COSMICA is the Brisbane winner. Each winning band plays on Stage 5 in their home city. They are also taking home consultations with some of the best in the business. That means they will talk to booking agents, promoters, publicists, and social media experts.
Stage 666 returns to Good Things this year
In 2023, Good Things Festival launched Stage 666 featuring a karaoke band, circus performers, AM/PM DJs and more. This year, the Freak Lounge will feature some special guests including Berlin’s princess of pain Princess Tweedle Needle. The world’s strangest strongman, The Great Gordo Gamsby will also be there. And don’t miss KILL YOUR POPSTARS – a hardcore live karaoke band experience led by some of Australia’s best musicians. Whether it’s punk, heavy, emo, indie, metal or rock, you can tell your mates that you performed at Stage 666. This stage is hosted by Australia’s own punk-rock daredevil Captain Ruin.
BBQ City offers a rocking good meal
Rock’n’roll is bound to make anyone hungry, but luckily BBQ City is returning to Good Things Festival. With plenty of mouth-watering food, your taste buds will be dancing all the way from the mosh pit.
Garden Stage includes local acts
At the heart of the Good Things Festival Brisbane lies the Garage Stage. This hidden gem is for fans craving a raw, unfiltered music experience. This secret gorilla stage strips away the grandeur of massive production. Be taken back to the festival’s roots: where riffs echo off concrete walls and passion fuels the performance. Tucked away from the main buzz, it captures the essence of garage jams, celebrating the grit and soul that birthed alternative, rock, and metal. Here, the energy is pure, the connection is visceral, and the music feels is authentic. Its not on the map, but walk through tunnels and follow the noise to the rumbling garage sounds.
The final tickets for Good Things Festival are still on sale now – but they won’t last long!
