Sunshine Coast soul and R’n’B artist Will Clift has announced a string of East-Coast shows to celebrate the release of his new track “Sublime”.
Co-written and produced by Australian singer/songwriter Matt Corby, the song puts all Will’s sunshiny, beachtown vibes into one feel-good track.
”Sublime is the second track Matt and I have worked on together,” Will says.
“We wanted to create something that would make people smile, get them dancing, and leave people feeling inspired.”
“The song is about overcoming hardship and not conforming to expectations, which is something Matt and I have had to deal with personally.
“Writing a song like this with Matt was something I’d always dreamed of and the song is super nostalgic for me.”
Footy star takes musical career curveball
You could say Will was living his best “Troy Bolton” life (High School Musical) – playing rugby full-time while pursuing his music career – when he had to choose between the two passions.
The former footy star, who has been cutting his teeth by busking at the Eumundi Markets, now has opportunity knocking at his door.
Local record producer connections
Will began recording with Matt at his Byron Bay home studio, Rainbow Valley, which Matt co-owns with Buderim music producer Alex Henriksson.
He landed a mentorship as part of the Wild Turkey 101 Music program, and in the last few years has garnered nation-wide attention, with unforgettable shows supporting Milkun, and sold-out gigs in Sydney and Melbourne.
Will has enjoyed half-a-million online streams, and given cathartic performances to impressed crowds in notable venues, such as Oxford Art Factory, the Gasometer, Northcote Social and Solbar.
You can enjoy Will’s signature, soulful style on the Sunshine Coast at a secret location on August 24. Tickets and more information: https://linktr.ee/Willcliftmusic.
