Free electronic party takes over Fish Lane this Saturday

A free open-air dance party is turning the space beneath Brisbane’s Fish Lane bridge into one huge communal dancefloor this Saturday.

South System Vol. 2 lands at the Fish Lane Arts Precinct on June 27, bringing a night of underground electronic music led by Kaytetye producer and DJ RONA.

Presented by CYBER, Fish Lane Arts Precinct and Open Season, the all-ages event will also feature EXXY, Mikalah Watego and Jai Piccone, with music running from 5pm under the bridge.

No tickets, no barriers, and no standing around wondering whether you should have gone out.

RONA. leads the Fish Lane lineup

RONA.’s music moves between the stories of her Mparntwe country and the pulse of the club. Her growing live résumé includes Boiler Room, Laneway Festival and performances alongside Four Tet and Overmono.

She will be joined by EXXY, the project of Luca Young, whose music blends percussion, techno and ethereal electronic sounds.

Mikalah Watego will bring the big-room club energy after appearances at Pitch Music & Arts Festival, Strawberry Fields and Ability Fest.

Rounding out the lineup is Byron Bay producer and multi-instrumentalist Jai Piccone, known for his work with Tora and his own smooth, European-inspired techno-house tracks.

Open Season continues across Brisbane

South System Vol. 2 is part of Brisbane’s Open Season winter program, which continues through July with shows from Hiatus Kaiyote, Peach PRC, Full Flower Moon Band, Dan Sultan, Beddy Rays and more.

But this Saturday belongs to the dancefloor.

South System Vol. 2 is at Fish Lane Arts Precinct, South Brisbane, from 5pm on June 27. Entry is free, with registrations available through Open Season.
