Held across Broadbeach on the Gold Coast, Groundwater Country Music Festival is a free multi day event built around country music, live performance and a strong destination feel.

The festival spreads across outdoor stages, beachside bars, venues and public spaces, helping turn Broadbeach into a country music hub for the weekend.

Now in its 13th year, Groundwater has become one of Queensland’s major free music festivals, combining headline country artists with emerging acts, international songwriters, line dancing, bluegrass breakfasts and a relaxed coastal festival setting.

Why it matters

A free festival with major Gold Coast pull

Groundwater is more than a standard festival lineup. Its Broadbeach setting means people can move between stages, restaurants, bars and beachside spaces without leaving the precinct.

The 2026 event is expected to draw more than 63,500 attendances and inject close to $17 million into businesses, venues and operators across Broadbeach, the wider Gold Coast and Queensland.

For country music fans, it is a rare mix: a free festival, a coastal holiday setting and a lineup that moves from household names to contemporary country, folk, Americana and emerging talent.
