The Gympie Music Muster has been secured through to 2029 after the Queensland Government extended its partnership with the long-running regional festival for another three years.
The announcement follows the 2026 Muster at Amamoor Creek State Forest and gives organisers longer-term certainty for one of Queensland’s best-known country music events.
The State Government says the extended partnership is expected to generate more than 220,000 visitor nights and inject more than $51 million into the Queensland economy across the three-year period.
The festival has been running for more than 40 years and now presents more than 140 artists across nine venues in the Amamoor Creek State Forest.
Gympie Music Muster chief executive Greg Cavanagh said the commitment provided certainty for the event as well as the community groups, artists and local businesses that support it.
Tourism and Events Queensland chief executive Craig Davidson said the extension recognised the Muster’s ongoing role in Queensland’s regional events calendar.
The deal takes the festival through to 2029 as Queensland continues building its major events program in the lead-up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The not-for-profit festival began in 1982 and is run by Gympie Muster Limited on behalf of the Apex Club of Gympie. Gympie Regional Council says the event has returned more than $21.8 million to community groups and charity partners since it began.
