Massive Attack will return to Australia for the first time in 16 years with a Brisbane show locked in for August.
The Bristol electronic pioneers will play Brisbane Entertainment Centre on August 6 as part of a three-city Australian run presented by Frontier Touring.
The tour also includes shows at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney on August 9 and Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on August 11.
First Australian tour since 2010
The 2026 dates mark Massive Attack’s first Australian headline shows since 2010, bringing one of electronic music’s most influential live acts back to local stages after a long wait.
Formed in Bristol in the late 1980s, the group helped shape trip-hop and left a deep mark on electronic, alternative and club music through records including Blue Lines, Protection, Mezzanine and Heligoland.
Their catalogue includes tracks such as “Teardrop”, “Angel”, “Unfinished Sympathy” and “Safe From Harm”, with their live shows known for heavy visual design, political messaging and a sound that can move from quiet tension to full-body pressure.
New era after ‘Boots on the Ground’
The announcement follows the release of “Boots on the Ground”, Massive Attack’s recent collaboration with Tom Waits and their first new music in several years.
It also arrives as the group continues to frame its live work around the connection between music, politics, climate and real-world events, a thread that has become central to the band’s modern identity.
