Alex Surf Club has announced it will host a new two-day music festival Alex By The Sea on June 7-8 on the Sunshine Coast.

The Alexandra Headland surf club last year saw 1200 music-thirsty punters flock to the favourite beachside spot for Bluff Fest, which sold-out in four days.

Headliners The Terrys and The Grogans joined local acts Brook St (pictured), Karlou and Nana’s Pie for the November event at Buhk Family Park, next to the surf club.

Presented by Alex Surf Club, the latest mini festival will raise funds for Alexandra Headland Surf Life Saving’s vital programs.

Alex Surf Club will announce the Alex By The Sea Day 1 line-up on March 17.

Alex By The Sea brings another surf rock festival to Coast

More than 1000 locals took over Alexandra Headland’s beachfront parkland to see Aussie surf-rock legends The Grogans, The Terrys, and Shag Rock, for the first-ever Bluff Fest last November. 

Locals Nana’s Pie, Brook Street, Emily Rink, and Karlou also represented, and food trucks and a beachside bar kept punters happy and hydrated.

Bluff Fest raised much-needed funds for the Alex Surf Club, and Alex By the Sea looks set to provide some stiff competition.
