Psuedo Echo, Dragon and Taxi Ride will play at Alex By The Sea on Day 2

March 20, 20252 min read

Iconic Australian 80s new-wave band Pseudo Echo (main picture) will headline Day 2 of Sunshine Coast music festival Alex By The Sea.

Dragon and Taxi Ride also form part of the June 8 lineup, which will be aimed at an older crowd.

Alex Surf Club announced earlier this week Melbourne rock band Slowly Slowly and Kiamba indie-rock group The Vanns will headline Day 1 celebrations on June 7.

Local legends Betty Taylor and Pricey, Buttermello and Nuffin Butta will also perform on Day 1, with emerging rock act Headsend.

The surf club saw 1200 music-thirsty punters flock to the favourite beachside spot last November for Bluff Fest, which sold-out in four days.

It’s a return to the Coast for Psuedo Echo (pictured in 1985 via Facebook) who played at Norton Music Factory last year.

The band is currently on their Love An Adventure Tour across the country.

Alex By The Sea brings second surf-rock festival to Coast

More than 1200 punters took over Alexandra Headland’s beachfront parkland to see Aussie surf-rock legends The GrogansThe Terrys, and Shag Rock, for the first-ever Bluff Fest.

The Coast’s favourite musicians also joined in with Nana’s PieBrook StreetEmily Rink, and Karlou, while food trucks and a beachside bar kept punters happy and hydrated.

Presented by Alex Surf Club, the latest mini festival will raise funds for Alexandra Headland Surf Life Saving’s vital programs.

Bluff Fest raised much-needed funds for the Alex Surf Club, and Alex By the Sea looks set to provide some stiff competition.
