Aussie rock royalty Lime Cordiale, anyone? What about 90s rock favourites Bodyjar? Or maybe you thought you’d finally see what the fuss was about with those frothin’ local legends Calan Mai.

If the Cyclone Alfred aftershocks had you feeling footloose and fancy-free, April 2025 was a stacked month for Sunshine Coast live music.

Whether you were going nuts in Nambour or simply bored in Buderim, this Sunshine Coast what’s on list was a small-town pressure relief valve.

7 things to do on the Sunshine Coast in April 2025:

1. Calan Mai, Solbar, April 4

If you’ve been fanging to know the boys behind the act, catch Jordy and his cohort of local rock gods for their debut album launch at Solbar. It’s gonna be a fun one.

2. Babe Rainbow, Imperial Hotel, April 5

We wrote a piece on the 10 Biggest Acts Coming To The Sunshine Coast earlier this year, and right after we posted it Babe Rainbow — with their huge Spotify following — announced they too were sailing into town. These guys are a great one to see live if you’re into loose, percussive, good-time psych-pop.

3. Peking Duk, Kings Beach Tavern, April 10

Another jacked night out on the Coast was when Peking Duk took over Kings Beach Tavern. If you saw them at Big Pineapple Festival last year, you’ll know these guys are even better live. They bring the energy.

4. Bodyjar + The Wolston Butchers, Norton Music Factory, April 12

Bodyjar did a boomerang back to the Coast after blowing the roof off the Blackflag Brewery open stage for Something Cool Festival last November. Our fave local punk rockers The Wolston Butchers, who also played that night, supported them. If you love hard and fast punk energy, this was one for the calendar.

5. Stand Atlantic & Redhook, Solbar, April 13

Another band which was just here for Something Cool Festival is Redhook, who were absolutely phenomenal that night. They had toilet paper hanging from the rafters in true punk rock style. If that show was anything to go by, Stand Atlantic was another one not to miss.

6. Xavier Rudd, The Station, April 17

While it was already sold out, we couldn’t not mention local roots superstar Xavier Rudd, who performed at The Station.

7. Lime Cordiale, The Station, April 26

Australia’s favourite pop-rock group Lime Cordiale always bring the crowds, so if you were a fan-of-the-century too, this was one to get tickets for early. Die-hards could also catch them on the Gold Coast and Toowoomba.
