Raw Ordio bring dancefloor energy to Noosa Food & Wine

May 13, 20263 min read

Raw Ordio will headline the Village Main Stage at Noosa Food & Wine Festival, bringing a live electronic set to one of the Coast’s biggest food and lifestyle weekends.

A couple enjoying the Noosa Food and Wine Festival

The Sunshine Coast loves a boogie, and Noosa Food & Wine is adding bass to the menu.

Raw Ordio are set to bring a Saturday evening lift to Noosa Food & Wine Festival, closing out the Village Main Stage with a live electronic set on June 13.

The Queensland act, recently named finalists in the Sunshine Coast Music Awards, have built a following around percussion, saxophone and dancefloor energy.

It makes for a lively shift in a festival program built around long lunches, restaurant events, chefs, wine, producers and big Noosa hospitality moments.

By Saturday evening, after a day of tastings, demonstrations and festival village sessions, Raw Ordio will bring the kind of set that can turn a polished food and wine crowd into a party.

A Coast crowd that likes to move

The booking also lands in a region that has shown a real appetite for dance music.

Earlier this year, Sunny Side Up brought a major electronic lineup to Aussie World and became one of YELO’s biggest Google search drivers, with readers clearly looking for more dance-focused events on the Coast.

That interest is not only attached to big festival bills. Dance music has been moving through Sunshine Coast pubs, breweries, Sunday sessions and Noosa and Coolum party spaces for years, with names such as De Saint, Johnny Sonic from The Potbelleez and Greg Sara part of the wider local picture.

Raw Ordio fit that lane well: big enough for a festival stage, but still carrying the looseness of a pub and brewery crowd.

More dates on the way

The Noosa Food & Wine set is not Raw Ordio’s only local date coming up.

They are also set to appear at Pranafest from June 5–7, before heading to the Village Main Stage at Noosa Food & Wine Festival on June 13.

They will then return to Noosa for a show at Boiling Pot Brewing Co in Noosaville on July 18.

That run puts them across three very different Coast settings: a festival, a food and wine crowd, and a local brewery room.

Food, wine and a dancefloor

For Noosa Food & Wine, Raw Ordio bring a different kind of flavour to the Saturday program.

Still Noosa. Still food. Still wine.

Just with a bit more bass in the evening.

Noosa Food & Wine Festival runs from June 11–14, with Raw Ordio performing on the Village Main Stage on June 13. Other upcoming Raw Ordio dates include Pranafest from June 5–7 and Boiling Pot Brewing Co on July 18.
