The Songwriters Roundtable is a monthly workshop for artists at Nambour.

Now in its fifth year, the workshops take a deep dive into the art of the singer-songwriter in a warm and welcoming space at community hub Dance Art, Etc.

Host Mira Chorik says the sessions help songwriters discover who they are as artists and develop their unique voice in a supportive space.

The workshops are interactive and include writing exercises.

“With lots of permission to play, we’ll delve into storytelling through description and observation. We’ll explore song structures and the magic of metaphor, and understand point of view and rhyme.”

This month’s roundtable is about building a foundation of observation skills and writing from the senses to evoke connection.

Tickets are $20: https://events.humanitix.com/the-songwriters-roundtable-april.

Who should attend?

The Songwriters Roundtable is for adults and teens who are new to songwriting, and also seasoned songwriters who might be feeling stuck or uninspired.

The workshops suit those seeking tools to improve their lyric writing.

What do I need to bring?

Attendees are asked to bring a notebook, pen, and your instrument.

About the workshops

Each monthly meetup has a different focus from the world of lyric writing and emotive storytelling.

Sessions will build on skills and principles from previous months, but anyone can drop into any session.
