Tomorrowland Australia CORE 2026: Is it really happening?

July 30, 20254 min read

World-wide media has been in a twist with rumours that EDM festival Tomorrowland is bringing its CORE event to Australia in 2026.

The Belgium festival, which attracts around 60,000 fans each year, is known for its incredible stage designs, stunning visuals, and top-tier lineup of DJ acts.

It draws tens of thousands of fans from around the globe, and is often considered one of the biggest and most iconic electronic music festivals in the world.

So, Yelo did some digging to see what’s really going on and find out what might be fuelling this buzz.

What is the Tomorrowland Australia 2026 rumour all about?

A viral Tiktok video, presumably posted by a Tomorrowland staffer (@mofftits on July 26), shows a person walking past a map installation on the festival grounds.

Its alleged that the original poster is essentially teasing upcoming locations. And they appear to zoom into the map with “Melbourne November 2026” marked as a potential destination.

Within a matter of days, fans lit up the internet with the world asking: “Is Tomorrowland Australia 2026 really happening?”

(My bestie even messaged me saying: “OMG Tomorrowland is coming to Australia!”)

After some investigation, Yelo got to the bottom of the online rumours.

So, is the Tomorrowland rumour true?

Well, yes and no.

With the internet ablaze with speculation that Tomorrowland Australia 2026 is on the horizon, we can tell you, sadly that’s a no for the actual festival as a whole.

However, we can say there’s a “possibility” that CORE, a spin-off version of the event where the famous CORE stage travels the world, could be a reality in Australia in 2026.

A Tomorrowland spokesperson told Rolling Stone AU/NZ magazine that organisers are considering bringing CORE to Australia, just not the entire festival.

“We are looking into a CORE event, there will be no Tomorrowland festival in Australia,” Tomorrowland spokesperson Debby Wilmsen told the magazine.

What is Tomorrowland CORE?

Since its debut in 2017, the CORE stage has become an iconic fixture at Tomorrowland festivals worldwide. Since becoming a fan favourite, the stage took flight and is now a staple at Tomorrowland Brazil and Tomorrowland Winter. Its striking design and cutting-edge production, combined with unforgettable lineups, have cemented CORE as a symbol of the festival’s innovative spirit.

Building on this success, Tomorrowland took the CORE experience beyond Belgium’s pearly gates, transforming it into a standalone event series. It kicked off with CORE Tulum in 2023, capturing the imagination of fans in Mexico’s vibrant Riviera Maya. The momentum continued with CORE Columbia in 2024, and CORE Los Angeles held later that year.

Our final words on CORE in Australia in 2026

As fans eagerly await official word, one thing’s clear: Tomorrowland’s CORE Australia 2026 could redefine the Australian electronic music scene.

Watch out fans of EDM in Australia: next year could be yours.
