The vibrant shipping container playground known fondly to Sunny Coast locals as, “Nighquarter”, is set to be revitalised as “The Station”.

Owners of the Birtinya live music venue, Chris and Lauren Hignett (main picture), who are also behind local indoor skatepark, Alley-Oops, have secured a five year lease of the site.
In March next year, The Station will become a multi-purpose, family-friendly live music and entertainment precinct, featuring retail shops, a bar area, and street-style food vendors.
And even its own skate park!
Nightquarter fell prey to a slow economic recovery post Covid-19, and also to floods and the rising cost of living, with the owners having to shut their doors suddenly, leaving a massive hole in the live music industry.

Lauren Hignett told Channel 7: “We wanted a place where we could have a good time, as adults, and our kids could have a good time as well.”
Food vendors who previously operated at the 6,400m2 site have been welcomed back.
