Child star musical prodigy Nathan Cavaleri has helped Sunshine Coast craft brewery Your Mates raise $35,000 for vital local mental health charities and educational support.

Around 300 locals packed the Warana brew pub recently to hang with their mates, have a laugh, and enjoy some delicious meat at the sold-out Meats with Mates annual fundraiser.

Nathan, who shot to fame after appearing on TV’s Hey Hey it’s Saturday and played with Mark Knopfler at the age of nine, shared his inspiring mental health journey.

The singer-songwriter was in town for Norton Music Factory’s Bronywn Street Blues Volume 10 on Saturday.

Guests also heard from comedian Harley Breen and Casey Lyons of LIVIN.

Host Todd Widdicomb from radio’s Mix MF kicked off the auction items, which raised much-needed funds for the Veterans Wellbeing Foundation, LIVIN, and Mateship Foundation.

Over the past five years, the Meats with Mates fundraiser has contributed more than $150,000 to mental health initiatives.

Your Mates co-found Matt Hepburn says he’s “beyond grateful” to those who came and contributed.

“Mateship is at the heart of what we do, and this event showcased that,” Matt says.

“Thanks to everyone involved, we’re able to give back to causes that mean so much to us and our community.”
