In pictures: Enter Shikari at Blackflag Coolum

Enter Shikari brought sweat, strobes and full-body chaos to Blackflag Brewing in Coolum on Sunday night.

The UK band turned the graffitied cement room into a packed pressure cooker, with chaotic lights cutting through a heavy-alt crowd losing it for a few hours.

It was loud for a Sunday night on the Coast, and exactly the kind of show that makes an industrial estate brewery feel like the right room at the right time.

Photographer Matt Warren was there for YELO, capturing the faces, colour and movement from inside the crush.

Blackflag Brewing has become a leading venue in the Coast’s mid-size touring space, with Coolum and Mooloolaba now picking up shows that might once have gone to The Station or Solbar.

The venue is also building a run of free Mooloolaba shows through winter, with Cheap-Skate, Chamberlane and Porcelain playing on June 14, followed by Che Burns and Cherry Nova on June 19.

Blackflag in Mooloolaba will also have local punk favourites The Drop Beers and Global Asset for the Punk Pi$$ Up in July.

The venue’s next major Coolum show is The Jungle Giants on August 21, with more local and touring announcements expected across the season.

See more in the YELO Sunshine Coast gig guide.
