Phil and The Blanks appear to have entered peak Phil mode, with a 2 million-stream milestone, a Harlum collab, a reggae rugby song, a website-only single, a fan zine and a Brisbane River booze cruise all landing in one ridiculous run.
Phil and The Blanks have had a busy few weeks, with their debut single “GOOD BOY” passing 2 million streams, according to the band’s latest fan mail newsletter, “World of Phil”.
The Sunshine Coast band have also released “GOOD BOY feat. Harlum”, a new version of their breakout track with Sunshine Coast rapper Harlum.
The collaboration gives “GOOD BOY” a rap lift while keeping the original’s loose, oddball energy intact. It is also the cleanest entry point into the current Phil universe, which now includes music, merch, a fan zine, Uncle Steven lore and a fanbase that appears very much in on the joke.

PHINS UP, Phil Jam and the growing World of Phil
The band’s latest new music run also includes “PHINS UP”, a reggae love song for the Redcliffe Dolphins.

It is exactly as strange as that sounds, landing somewhere between rugby devotion, pub chant and a sudden Sunshine Coast skank phase.
The band have also dropped “PHIL JAM”, a direct-from-the-website single about Phil hanging out at nightclubs, getting loose and making a nuisance of himself.
Unlike the band’s streaming releases, “PHIL JAM” is being treated as a website-only track, meaning anyone trying to complete the full Phil and The Blanks song list will need to head straight to the source.

There is also now a “World of PhilL fan zine, because apparently the songs, sunglasses, merch, fake management ecosystem and Uncle Steven dispatches were not enough infrastructure for one band.
Phil and The Blanks hit the Brisbane River

Next up, Phil and The Blanks are heading for the Brisbane River.
The band will play the Vodkast Booze Cruise on June 7, alongside Profanity Fair and Whitt’s End.
The show is billed as an intimate pop, punk and rock cruise with strictly 100 tickets available, giving fans a chance to see the bands and party with them on the water.

Between “GOOD BOY” hitting 2 million streams, the Harlum collab, “PHINS UP”, “PHIL JAM”, the zine and a boat gig, the band have managed to turn a new music update into a full-blown Phil situation.
Which, honestly, may be the point.
