An all-ages open mic – In-Synct – has launched at Nambour venue The Presynct and is quickly becoming a welcome hangout for musicians, songwriters and creatives alike.
Local musician and organiser Jarrod Tutbury, who is also on the Sunshine Coast Music Industry Collective, says everyone is welcome even those who prefer to enjoy their music off the stage.
“We want to turn this into an inclusive hangout for musicians and punters alike, so come along and discover grassroots artists,” Jarrod says.

“Personally I’m doing this to create a hub. There’s already a community of musos that I know and jam with. And to bring them all together into one space to share music and stories from the month is a great thing for the community.
“It also gives people a chance to experiment and workshop ideas in a friendly setting. And we use beginner sound-techs to give them a chance to learn how to mix on-the-fly in a low-pressure environment.”
Whether you’re a seasoned performer or just starting out, In-Synct is where you can discover fresh grassroots talent and a community of music-loving mates.
Keen to test out some new tunes on stage? Or simply want to soak up the atmosphere? Be sure to mark the first Thursday of every month in your calendar!

Performers can register using an online form here on the The Presynct website or just rock up on the night. Under 18s must attend with a guardian.
The next In-Synct open mic is on August 7 at The Presynct in Nambour. Doors open 4pm.
