Sunshine Coast all-girl band Betty Taylor has returned with another feel-good summer track as they tour the UK this month.
Co-written with renowned music producer Robby De Sa (grentperez, The Veronicas), “Sucker Punch” is a sun-soaked, heart-thumping dose of dreamy indie-pop.
The song is about falling in love when you least expect it, explains frontwoman Sophie Patrick.
“It’s a story about swearing off dating and being content on your own, only to suddenly meet someone who changes everything.
“It’s like BAM you meet someone out of nowhere and you’re like ‘oh wow you amazing’.
“But also ‘oh no, this wasn’t a part of the plan’. And ‘I and don’t want to get my heart broken again’.”

The song marks the next step in Betty Taylor’s global rise as they traverse the UK for a second time, kicking off their tour in London last night.
They will play a slew of shows across England and in Scotland, also stopping in Ireland for Live at Leeds.
Since their 2023 breakthrough, Betty Taylor has played to packed rooms at SXSW 2025, and shared stages with surf-rock legends The Rubens and The Grogans.
This year they won four awards at the Sunshine Coast Music Awards, scoring a slot to play on the big stage at Big Pineapple Festival.
To coincide with their new song, Betty Taylor also have a music video, shot on the Coast by Michael Geddes.
It captures the band’s authentic connection of four best friends having the time of their lives as they make music together in one of the best places on earth.
