BIGSOUND

BIGSOUND is one of Brisbane’s defining music events, bringing artists, industry leaders, media and music lovers together in Fortitude Valley for a week built around discovery, showcases and the future of Australian music.

About BIGSOUND

Held in Brisbane each September, BIGSOUND combines a major music industry conference with a city-wide live showcase program centred on Fortitude Valley. By day, the event brings together artists, managers, labels, bookers, media and music professionals. By night, venues across the Valley fill with showcase performances that spotlight emerging acts and future headline names.

Why BIGSOUND Matters

BIGSOUND matters because it is more than a festival in the usual sense. It is one of Australia’s key music discovery events and a major marker of Brisbane’s place in the national industry. The event has helped spotlight artists who later became major names, while also drawing industry attention, media coverage and live music crowds into Fortitude Valley.

BIGSOUND Location

BIGSOUND takes place in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, with showcases spread across the precinct’s live music venues and the wider event anchored in the city each September. The 2026 edition is scheduled for 1–4 September.
