Bristol post-punk rockstars IDLES are set to descend on Brisbane Riverstage on January 18.
They are here as part of a three-show Australian Tour, with stops in Melbourne (January 21) and Sydney (January 22).
Best known for their songs “Dancer” and “Never Fight A Man With A Perm” the band has enjoyed sold-out tours and festival headline spots since the released their breakout album “Brutalism” in 2016.
“Joy as an Act of Resistance” further spring boarded the band into the global consciousness in 2018. And it paved the way for the colossal “Ultra Mono” album in 2020, becoming their first number one UK album.
In 2022 “CRAWLER” contained the buzz-saw urgency that their now global fanbase had come to expect. And it was this album which expanded their sound with more melodic and introspective songs.
IDLES released their fifth studio album, “Tangk”, last year, featuring “Dancer” which was later named by NME as the 49th best song of 2023.
They recently played at Glastonbury Festival where they performed on the Other Stage.
At every step of the way IDLES has garnered a wealth of dedicated supporters. From the early breaks given to them by Steve Lamacq and BBC 6 Music, to the independent live music circuit, it seems the sky is the limit for these hardcore-punk superstars.
